HEAD TO HEAD
CRETA VS SCORPIO N
Two family SUVs, ₹1,500 apart on the daily rate. The right one comes down to how many of you are travelling.
Both of these are automatic, both are comfortable enough for a family trip to Manali or Dharamshala, and both stay off Spiti and Leh because neither is a 4x4. So the choice between them is not really about capability. It is about how many people and how much luggage.
The Creta seats five and costs less to book and to fuel. The Scorpio N seats seven and stops a bigger group from needing a second car. Past that, this comparison is short.

HOW TO DECIDE
Book the Creta if you are 4 or 5 people
This is where the Creta wins outright. It is cheaper per day, drinks less fuel over a Manali or Dharamshala trip, and the sunroof and ventilated seats matter more to a family than an extra two seats you are not using. Paying more for the Scorpio N when you do not need the extra capacity is money spent on nothing.
Book the Scorpio N if you are 6 or 7
Once the group crosses five, the maths flips. Two Cretas cost more than one Scorpio N and split your group across two cars, which means two drivers, two fuel bills and coordinating stops. The Scorpio N keeps everyone together and still has room for luggage.
Neither one is a Spiti or Ladakh car
Both are front-wheel drive with no low ratio transfer case, so we keep both to Himachal’s paved highway routes such as Manali, Shimla and Dharamshala. If the itinerary includes Spiti or Ladakh, the group needs to move to the Thar, Jimny, Hilux or Fortuner instead.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Creta or Scorpio N for a family trip to Manali?
For four or five people, the Creta. It costs less per day, uses less fuel, and the comfort features suit a family better than extra seats nobody is using. For six or seven people, the Scorpio N keeps the group in one car instead of splitting across two.
Which one is cheaper to run on a Himachal trip?
The Creta, by a meaningful margin. It is lighter, has a smaller engine, and the daily rate is ₹1,500 less than the Scorpio N. Over a 4-day Manali trip that gap alone is worth roughly a tank of fuel.
Can either the Creta or Scorpio N go to Spiti or Leh?
No. Neither is a 4x4 and we do not release either for those routes. The Jimny, Thar, Hilux and Fortuner are our cleared 4x4 fleet for Spiti and Leh.
Is the Scorpio N worth the extra ₹1,500 a day?
Only if you actually need the extra seats or luggage room. For a group of six or seven it is worth it because the alternative is renting two smaller cars. For four people, the Creta does the same highway job for less.
