Booking

How do I book a car?

Use the booking form on our website: select your dates, vehicle, and pickup location. You can also WhatsApp us directly and we will handle it manually - many customers prefer this for their first booking. Confirmation is instant once your documents are verified.

How far in advance should I book?

For weekends and long weekends (especially May–June and October), book at least 5–7 days ahead - the Jimny in particular fills quickly. For weekdays, 2–3 days is usually enough. For peak season trips to Leh and Spiti (July–August), book 2–3 weeks ahead.

Can I modify my booking after confirming?

Yes. Date changes are free if the vehicle is available and you notify us at least 24 hours before the original start time. Vehicle upgrades are subject to availability and any price difference. We try to accommodate every modification.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the rental start time - full refund, no questions asked. Cancellations between 24–48 hours: 50% refund. Cancellations within 24 hours: no refund. Weather cancellations (flash floods, road closures) are treated as free cancellations with full refunds.

Is there a security deposit?

₹5,000 for cars, ₹2,000 for bikes. Fully refunded within 24 hours of vehicle return, provided no damage beyond normal wear. We document the vehicle condition before and after with photos - the process is transparent.

Can I book for someone else?

The rental is in your name and the primary driver must be the account holder. Additional drivers can be added at no extra cost, but all drivers must have their own valid licence.

Documents

What documents do I need?

A valid Indian driving licence (at least 1 year old) and an Aadhaar card. Both are uploaded online during booking. We do not require a passport unless you have a foreign driving licence.

Can foreigners rent a car?

Yes. International customers need a valid passport, visa, and an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued in their home country. The IDP must be valid for the duration of the rental. WhatsApp us to coordinate - we will walk you through the process.

What is the minimum driving age?

21 years, with a licence held for at least 1 year. For the Jimny 4x4 on Spiti or Leh routes, we informally prefer drivers with 2+ years of experience on mountain roads.

How long does document verification take?

Under 2 hours on weekdays between 9 AM and 6 PM. Documents submitted after 6 PM are typically verified the following morning. We will never send a car before verification is complete.

Is my document data secure?

Documents are used solely for rental verification, stored securely, and deleted after 90 days. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Vehicles

Which vehicles do you have?

Maruti Jimny 4x4, Maruti Baleno (automatic), Hyundai Creta (automatic), and Maruti Swift. For bikes: Decathlon Rockrider hardtail MTB and Cube Aim SL full suspension MTB.

Are the cars automatic or manual?

The Baleno and Creta are automatic. The Jimny is available in manual. The Swift is manual. If you specifically need an automatic, select the Baleno or Creta during booking.

What condition are the cars in?

All vehicles are serviced monthly regardless of mileage. Each rental comes with a full pre-delivery inspection - tyres, brakes, fluid levels, spare tyre, emergency kit.

Can I see the car before booking?

Yes. If you are in Chandigarh, you are welcome to visit Sector 22 to inspect any available vehicle in person before committing.

What happens if the car breaks down?

Call or WhatsApp us immediately. We have roadside assistance partners across all major routes. For mechanical failures not caused by driver negligence, we cover the repair cost and, where possible, arrange a replacement vehicle.

Is there a GPS in every car?

Yes. Every vehicle has a GPS tracker - primarily for fleet management and your safety. If you are unreachable in a remote area, it allows us to locate you.

Routes & Permits

Which states can I drive to?

Himachal Pradesh inter-state permit is included in every rental. This covers Shimla, Manali, Spiti, Dharamshala, Kasauli, and all HP routes. For Ladakh (Leh), a separate permit is included for the Jimny. Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand are covered by the standard permit.

Can I take the car to Spiti Valley?

The Jimny 4x4 is cleared and specifically recommended for Spiti. No other car in our fleet should be taken on the Kunzum La or Pin–Parvati Valley roads. We will not rent the Baleno or Swift for Spiti - this is a safety decision.

What about Leh–Ladakh?

Jimny only. The Manali–Leh Highway requires 4x4 capability above Baralacha La, and the altitude demands a reliable machine. Minimum rental is 10 days for the full circuit. The permit documentation is handled by us.

Do I need a Rohtang Pass permit?

Yes - a daily permit is required for private vehicles crossing Rohtang Pass. Available online at himachalrohtang.nic.in. Book 1–2 days in advance during peak season (June–August). We include the permit process in our Manali trip PDF.

Can I drive to Uttarakhand (Mussoorie, Rishikesh)?

Yes, with prior notification. Let us know at booking time so we can ensure the documentation is in order.

Pricing

What is included in the daily rate?

Insurance, inter-state HP permit, GPS tracker, doorstep delivery within the tricity (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula), roadside assistance, and 24/7 WhatsApp support. There are no hidden charges.

What is the km limit per day?

Jimny: 300 km/day. Baleno: 300 km/day. Creta: 350 km/day. Swift: 300 km/day. Extra kilometres are charged at ₹8/km. If you know you will exceed the limit, WhatsApp us - we can arrange an unlimited km package for longer rentals.

What happens if I return the car late?

Up to 2 hours late: no charge. 2–6 hours late: half a day rate. More than 6 hours: full extra day. We always try to accommodate if you call us in advance.

Are there discounts for longer rentals?

Support & Safety

Is there support if I get into trouble on the road?

Yes - 24/7 WhatsApp and phone support for the entire duration of your rental. Every customer gets a trip-specific WhatsApp contact, not a generic support number.

What do I do if I have an accident?

First priority: your safety. Call us immediately. Do not move the vehicle until photos are taken. We will guide you through the insurance process. Our comprehensive insurance covers third-party liability and own damage.

What is covered by the insurance?

What should I do about altitude sickness?

If you are heading to Spiti or Leh, we include an acclimatisation guide in your trip PDF. Take Diamox as a precaution (consult a doctor first). If your SpO2 drops below 88%, descend immediately.

Is it safe for women travelling solo?

Yes. Every vehicle has GPS. Our 24/7 line is answered by real people. Many of our solo female customers share their live location with us during remote stretches - we are happy to check in at agreed points.
