What it buys you is most of Himachal. Kasauli at 60 kilometres, Shimla at 115, Chail, Dharamshala at 240 and the whole Kangra valley including Bir and Palampur. Amritsar at 230 on flat four-lane highway is the easiest trip in the list. All of these are paved end to end and none of them ask anything of the car that it cannot give.
Being small is a genuine advantage on several of them. Parking in McLeod Ganj, in the Kasauli cantonment and in Shimla is where a hatchback quietly beats an SUV, and that is worth more on those trips than power or clearance.
The one thing to be clear-eyed about is that it is a manual. On the sixty kilometre climb from Parwanoo you will be working. If that matters, the Baleno automatic is ₹700 a day more and solves it completely.

THE HONEST PART
What the Swift is bad at
Anything unpaved. Hatchback clearance rules out Spiti, Ladakh, the Rohtang approach and Solang after snow, and we will not release it for those routes. If that is your trip, the real starting price is ₹3,999 for a Jimny.
Five adults with luggage. Four people and four soft bags is fine. Five with a week of kit each is genuinely uncomfortable, and that is when the Creta stops looking expensive.
The Solan climb, in the sense that you will be busy. It has no trouble getting up NH5, but three hours of shifting in traffic is work. Plenty of people do it happily and some regret not paying the ₹700.
