WHICH CAR IS RIGHT
FOR YOUR TRIP?
Three things decide this, and price is usually the least important of them. Start with where you are going. Kasauli, Shimla, Amritsar and Dharamshala are all tarred roads that never ask for ground clearance, so a Swift or Baleno does the job and costs less to fuel. Manali is comfortable in a Creta. Spiti and Ladakh need a 4x4 and we will not release anything else for them.
Then count the people honestly, including luggage. Five adults in a Creta with a week of bags is tight enough that someone spends the drive with a duffel on their knees. That is the point where the Scorpio N or Fortuner earns its rate. Four or fewer, and the extra size mostly costs you fuel and makes Shimla parking harder than it needs to be.
Last, decide about the gearbox. Hill roads mean hundreds of hairpins and a lot of clutch work, and by hour five it shows in your left leg. The Swift and the Jimny are manual. Everything else in the fleet is automatic or available as one, and for a first mountain drive that is worth more than any other single upgrade.

Which car should I book for Manali from Chandigarh?
A Baleno or a Creta covers the Manali road comfortably between March and November. The highway is tarred the whole way and the Atal Tunnel removed the Rohtang climb for most trips. Take a Thar or a Jimny only if you plan to go past Solang toward Rohtang, up to Sethan, or into Lahaul on unpaved sections.
What is the cheapest self drive car you have in Chandigarh?
The Maruti Swift at ₹1,299 a day, then the Baleno at ₹1,999. Both include 300 km a day in the rate. For a Kasauli or Shimla weekend they are the sensible choice, and the fuel bill comes to roughly half what the same route costs in an SUV.
Do you have automatic cars?
Yes, and most of the fleet is automatic. The Baleno, Creta, Scorpio N, Hilux and Fortuner are automatic, and the Thar is available either way. Ghat roads with constant hairpins are noticeably less tiring without a clutch, which is why we suggest an automatic to anyone driving to Shimla or Manali for the first time.
Which cars are cleared for Spiti and Ladakh?
The Maruti Jimny, Mahindra Thar, Toyota Hilux and Toyota Fortuner. We do not release 2WD cars for either destination. This is not an upsell, it is because Kunzum La and the Manali to Leh passes have water crossings and loose gravel sections that a front wheel drive hatchback cannot clear.
How many people fit in your largest car?
Seven, in the Scorpio N or the Fortuner. Both have a third row, though on a long mountain drive the third row is honestly best for two adults rather than three. For six adults with luggage for a week, two smaller cars usually work out both cheaper and more comfortable than one seven seater.
Is the daily kilometre limit realistic for a mountain trip?
Mostly. Chandigarh to Manali and back is roughly 620 km, and the included allowance runs from 300 km a day on the hatchbacks to 400 km on the Fortuner, so a three day booking covers it with room left for local running. Spiti and Ladakh routinely exceed the allowance, which is why we quote those as packages. Anything beyond the limit is charged per kilometre at a rate you see before you confirm.
