ABOUT THIS BIKE
Royal Enfield Himalayan rental in Chandigarh
The Himalayan is the one Royal Enfield in our fleet actually designed for mountain touring rather than adapted for it. The 411cc engine is smaller than the Classic or Meteor on paper, but it is tuned for low-end torque and long-range comfort rather than highway speed, which is what a Manali or Spiti ride actually rewards.
A 15-litre tank, switchable dual-channel ABS you can turn off for loose gravel, and a seat height built around standing on rough sections rather than sitting through them are the three things riders notice within the first hour. This is the bike we point people toward when the trip involves altitude, not just distance.
WHERE IT EARNS ITS RATE
What the Himalayan is actually good at
Long-range mountain touring
The 15L tank and relaxed fuel economy give a genuine 350km-plus range, which matters on stretches like Manali to Leh where the next reliable pump is not close.
Loose and broken surfaces
Switchable ABS on the rear means you can kill it for gravel and river-bed sections without losing front braking control, a real difference on the Kunzum La approach.
Multi-day comfort
A wider, flatter seat and upright riding position hold up over 6 to 8 hour days better than a cruiser posture does.
What it is not built for
It is not the bike for a quick city errand or a single fast highway blast. The seat height and adventure-bike stance feel unnecessary in Chandigarh traffic, and the Classic 350 will out-cruise it on a flat, fast NH5 run to Shimla. If your trip is entirely on tarmac and under 150km, you are paying for capability you will not use.
ROUTE FIT
Which routes this bike suits
Chandigarh to Manali
Comfortable all the way, and the tank range means fewer fuel stops on the NH3.
Chandigarh to Spiti Valley
Our first recommendation. The switchable ABS and ground clearance handle the Kinnaur and Kunzum sections properly.
Manali to Leh Highway
Built for exactly this. Long-range tank and altitude-ready tuning matter more here than anywhere else we operate.
Chandigarh to Shimla or Kasauli
Overkill. Take the Classic 350 or Meteor 350 instead and save on the daily rate.
FAQ
Royal Enfield Himalayan questions
Is the Royal Enfield Himalayan good for a first Ladakh or Spiti ride?
Yes, it is the bike most of our first-time Ladakh and Spiti riders end up on. The switchable ABS and upright stance are more forgiving than a cruiser on loose or broken sections, which is where most first-timers get nervous.
What licence do I need to rent the Himalayan in Chandigarh?
A valid two-wheeler driving licence held for at least one year, plus your Aadhaar card. Both are uploaded online and verified digitally.
Does the Himalayan rental include a helmet and riding gear?
A helmet is included with every Himalayan rental at no extra cost. Riding jackets and knee guards are available on request.
Can I take the Himalayan on a one-way ride to Leh?
Selected one-way drops are possible. Tell us your route and dates when booking and we will confirm whether it is available for that specific trip.
More questions on booking, documents and deposits are answered on our full FAQ page.
