MANALI, FAMILY TRIPS, SPITI (AWD)
The XUV700 is one of the most powerful diesel SUVs in its class, and with the automatic it makes Himachal climbs feel effortless. It seats seven, rides well and is full of technology.
We rent two: the AX5 automatic for family trips on tarmac, and the AX7 Luxury with all wheel drive, which adds the top-trim cabin, ADAS driver assistance and the traction for snow, gravel and high passes.

Strong torque with a six speed automatic. Overtaking a truck on the Kiratpur climb takes a moment, not a plan.
AWD option
The AX7 Luxury AWD sends power to all four wheels, which is the variant we clear for Spiti and Ladakh.

Is the XUV700 automatic?
Both of ours are diesel automatics: the AX5 and the AX7 Luxury AWD.
Can I take the XUV700 to Spiti or Ladakh?
The AX7 Luxury AWD, yes, subject to the usual route briefing. The AX5 is front wheel drive and is for tarmac routes like Manali, Shimla and Dharamshala.
How much does it cost to rent a Mahindra XUV700 in Chandigarh?
The Mahindra XUV700 starts from ₹3,499 a day on self drive, with 350 km a day included. AX5 starting rate. The AX7 Luxury AWD, weekends and peak season cost more. Can I take the XUV700 to Spiti Valley or Leh Ladakh?
Only the 4x4 or AWD version (XUV700 AX7 Luxury AWD) is released for Spiti and Ladakh. The two wheel drive versions are for tarmac routes such as Shimla, Manali town and Dharamshala.
Is there a security deposit for the XUV700?
There is a ₹5,000 refundable security deposit, returned within 24 hours of the car coming back. You need a valid Indian driving licence held for at least a year and an Aadhaar card or passport, uploaded online before delivery.
Do you deliver the XUV700 to Mohali, Panchkula or Chandigarh Airport?
Yes. Doorstep delivery and pickup are free across Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur, and we hand over at Chandigarh Airport too. The car arrives cleaned, with insurance and the Himachal Pradesh permit already sorted.
